Who I am
S. Baker Painting & Decorating is the trading name of Simon Baker, a sole trader based in Wymondham, Norfolk. I'm responsible for the personal details you give me (the "data controller"). If you have any questions about this notice or your details, email sbakerpaintinganddecorating@outlook.com.
What I collect
When you send the quote form, I receive:
- your name
- your phone number
- your email address, if you give it
- what you tell me about the job, which may include details about your home or property
If you call or email me instead, I'll keep the details you give me in the same way.
Why I use it
I only use your details to reply to your enquiry, give you a quote, arrange and carry out the work, and keep the records I need for my business and tax. The legal basis is that you've asked me to take these steps before we agree a job (and then to carry out that job), and that I have a legitimate interest in keeping proper business records.
I won't send you marketing, and I will never sell or pass on your details to anyone else to market to you.
Who else handles it
- Netlify hosts this website and receives the quote form, then emails it to me. Netlify is based in the USA, so your details may be stored there. Netlify protects data sent from the UK using approved legal safeguards (the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).
- Microsoft Outlook is the email service I use, so enquiries and emails are stored there.
- This website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser shares your IP address with Google when the page loads.
Like most websites, the hosting provider also keeps short-term technical logs (such as IP addresses and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.
How long I keep it
If an enquiry doesn't turn into a job, I delete it within 12 months. If I do work for you, I keep your details and job records for 6 years after the job, because that's how long I need to keep business records for tax.
Cookies
This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking.
Your rights
You can ask me for a copy of the details I hold about you, ask me to correct them, or ask me to delete them (unless I have to keep them for tax records). You can also object to how I use them. Just email me at sbakerpaintinganddecorating@outlook.com. I'll reply within one month.
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, though.
